Internal organs "Surgeon's-Eye" view of the anatomy of the adrenal glands in the ferret, and an excellent representation of the difficulty associated with removal of the right adrenal gland.

The right adrenal gland (R) sits on top of the posterior vena cava, the largest vein in the body, and in this individual, as in many, actually curves around it. Only the most careful dissection will result in complete removal of this gland.

Legend: R - right adrenal, L- left adrenal, RK - right kidney, LK-left kidney, C - caudate lobe of the liver, TC - colon.
